Position: Procurement Manager
Reports to: AJES Managing Director
Section: N/A
Direct Reports: Procurement Department Personnel
Internal Working Relationships: Procurement Personnel, Internal Departments, Site/Projects.
External Working Relationships: Suppliers, Subcontractors, Clients and Al Jaber Inter-companies.
Key Objectives of the Job:
Exercise and Management of Procurement operations of the company. Implement Procurement Procedures and ensure procurement department’s performance is consistent with applicable policies, procedures and objectives to meet business unit and project needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervision of all Procurement personnel in the department.
- Maintaining communications with organization and client personnel through regular visits to each assigned project team to ensure that the services of Procurement meet the needs of each site/project.
- Development and maintenance of ISO 9001 certification, Procurement Policies & Procedures and ensure full implementation.
- Monitoring personnel to ensure they receive appropriate training and development to satisfy job performance criteria and company personnel development objectives.
- LPO’s/WSO approval in JD Edwards system.
- Review of subcontract agreements and make recommendations to ensure appropriate provisions are reflected in the general, special, and pricing conditions of the subcontract document.
- Indoctrination of newly hired/assigned personnel to Procurement Department’s policies and procedures and develop and coordinate Procurement personnel staffing plan.
Key Results/Outcomes:
1. Site requisitions and delivery schedules are met.
2. Quality and feasible prices are met.
3. Consistent with ISO 9001 certification, procurement procedures, company policies and management instructions.
Job Requirements:

Technical Competencies:
|
- Proficiency and experience in the formation and administration of purchase orders through the several steps of bidder prequalification, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, award, monitoring the performance of suppliers and buyers, back-charge procedures, resolution of claims and disputes, and other such related steps.
- Same in technical knowledge of material & services relevant to company’s line of business and projects’ nature including technical specs, norms, methods & resources and products’ industry and application.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Experience in supervision of workload distribution and execution of the work.

Minimum Experience:

15-20 years related work experience.

|
Engineering degree (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical).
